Turning off INFOPANELS in checkout area?

Is there a way of turning the INFOPANELS off in the checkout pages of the site. Or would I need to comment them out in the relevent templates.

There is no way of turning them off automatically, so if you did want to do this, you would need to comment the variable out e.g.
