One Product two sections

Hey all.

I've had a look but can't find an answer for this one anywhere...

I'm currently using the thumbnails approach of showing my products. On my import file I've got each product listed twice with different product refs and different section texts. The rest are the same.

My idea for this is so that people can get to products either through a manufacturer link or via a product type link.

e.g.
Prod ref section text
100 Wireless LAN|PC Card|NETGEAR WG311T
101 Netgear|NETGEAR WG311T

This works fine besides when you do a search you'll now see two NETGEAR WG311T's

Does anyone have an idea on how I can stop the 2nd product from being searched? Or does anyone have a better solution?

This is a known issue with having the same product twice in the store - it gets indexed twice and there isn't really anything you can do about it I'm afraid.

However, the next major release has the ability to do true 'product duplicates' so you will be able to achieve what you want in a more straigtforward fashion.

When is the next version out? Do we have a date?

There is no specific date, but the plan is for it to be out in the first half of the year.
