Sorry to be a pain, but i am irish!! I have got a digital download working but only if the price is set to zero, as soon as i put a price on it it wont send a link to download. It is set up as a choice through a component to have a download and a mail order. also when i try to purchase mail order it tells me the quantity as been exceeed and i cant order over 1, but i had to set the product to one so the download would work.

Any ideas?

I'm a bit lost as to what could be causing this. If you want to pursue this on the forum, can I ask you to do a 'File | Export' and export your products to a file and attach the file to this thread (you may need to zip it first). I can then import this and see exactly what set up you have.

Otherwise, call support as I suggest here (http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7275).

Here you go (attached). Just import the file and 'Update' rather than 'Replace'. It should create a section called 'Chris Dicken' with an example product within it.

The problem was that you had associated the 'Mail Order' permutation with the main product - rather than creating a separate hidden 'Mail Order' product for the purpose.

Thus, when you select 'Mail Order' the same product is being added to the cart twice (and therefore is not allowed).

I have also associated the 'Beautifull Unit Mail Order' product with a simple image in the 'Site1' folder to see if when you test it, you get the link appearing in the receipt. By the way, use the 'Credit Card Details Sent Separately' payment method to test the checkout - rather than using PayPal. It is quicker.

thanks for all that. I am not too sure how to import exactly so i will try and set it up from scratch, with the additional info i now know. By the way i am not using pay pal i am using world pay.

i cant get passed the mapping fields part, i keep getting errors and no products were imported. what exactly do i do for this part/?

I have sussed out how to import! only thing is u have attached the zip file i originaly sent to you and not your one! can u send your one.

Here you go - I've checked the file and renamed it to avoid confusion.

When you import it (using 'File | Import' and then selecting 'Hierarchical Import') use 'Update' and it should create a new section in your store called 'Chris Dicken' with a sample product inside it.

there is an error importing it. after i click next after hiererarchical import i get the error "line 9, the record price schedule is not supported by this version of actinic". any chance you can ammend this and re-send the file?

I just imported this into v6.1.4 and it imported perfectly.

I have attached another file that removes all mapping data other than the stuff you actually need.

Here is what you need to do

1) Open the attached zip file and extract the file 'trustme_cd2.csv' to your Desktop.

2) In Actinic go into 'File | Import'

3) Select 'Hierarchical Import' and click 'Next'.

4) Click 'Browse' to select the 'trustme_cd2.csv' file on your desktop.

5) Select 'Update', 'Text (Comma Delimited)' and 'ANSI (Windows)' and click 'Next'.

6) Click 'Next' through all the mapping screens, then click 'Finish'.

That really should work.

i did that, it imported ok and i have the c dicken section now. i got these errors though when installing the update.

Line 17: Wrong number of fields. Expected 58 but got 57.

Line 15: The associated product reference does not correspond to any existing product. The permutation is still imported but is not associated to any product.

you do not have the digital download file associated with anything in the selection permutations tab. where do i fill in the file for the digital download?

How odd. It worked fine for me.

I'll try another approach - see the attached word document and screenshots of what I did.

Thank you for that. I have it set up exactly the way you have. I am getting strage things happening though. When i click on the digital download i get charged €5 for shipping and i do not get the link to the product in the online receipt. I have the weight set up for the theree posable territories as just a standard shipping class with 0kg set to €0 and o.5kg set to €5 euro. In the digital download properties i have the weight set to €0. When i click on the mail order i dont get charged shipping and the weight is set to 0.5 kg!! Then it tells me i have exceeded the shipping tables when i try to make the purchase. I think if you were to send me a screen shot of the shipping and handling field it would hopefullly iron out this problem.

I imported your settings and it works perfectly. Check out:

I did have to subsitute your digital download file to one I had access to, but you still get the link appearing in the checkout. It is under where the option appears in the shopping cart at the bottom of the receipt page.

Make sure you select the 'digital download' option and then in the checkout, select a payment method of 'Credit card details sent separately'.

If you are not getting the link then it may be that your hosting does not support digital download.

What exactly do you mean by send credit card details seperatly, where do i do this? I have tried te two side by side. The difference starts at the payment method section. here is what you get:

i am using worldpay, i have selected them in the payment methods so i can not choose "send credit card details seperatly"there as i would not be picking worldapy as my merchant, no??

the hosting company does actuall support digital downloads as it actually worked for a while, but i can not remember what settings i had :(

OK - we're getting somewhere. Your setup with comoponents and products appears to be correct, but I did not realise you were only using PayPal.

I think you have got the same issue as this customer here (http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7457) i.e. PayPal normally takes a couple of minutes to confirm payment and so Actinic does not include the download link in the receipt - instead, it includes it in the customer email that is sent.

Have we established yet whether Actinic can send customer receipt emails from your server? You can test this (and test the download links) by adding 'Credit Card Details Sent Separately' as a payment method in 'Business Settings | Payment and Security'. Add a new row to the grid by clicking the '+' and then select 'Credit Card Details Sent Separately' from the list.

Upload and test the store.

i am not using paypal!! i am using worldpay. i have just realised something. i selected more payment options, previously i only had worlpay as my method of payment, now i have added the send details seperatly and when i choose this i get the download link in the payment section, when i choose worldpay i dont!! whats the score??!! what will i do??

yes, when i set up send credit card details seperatly i get the link in the receipt and in the e-mail i get sent. but when i select world pay i get on link in the receipt or in the e-mail.

Also, do you have it set to 'pre-authorise' or 'charge transactions immediately' (in 'Business Settings | Payment and Security'. I think it has to be the latter to work correctly.

You do need to use WorldPay.

But I don't know what is wrong with your store.

I'm wondering if it is something to do with it being in test mode. I will check with the development team and get back to you with an answer later today.

i know i dont actually need to use worldpay, but they are my chosen merchant and i would not use any other. They offer a very secure service and lots of people trust them, and also they maintin they are fully Actinic friendly and vice versa!! please let me know when you hear back from development as i have been out eyeing up long lenghts of rope lately.

Here is what the developers say:=====
If the download link is not shown in the receipt, then it means, the authorisation callback has not been received at the time the receipt was created.
==== So there you go. If Actinic does not receive the authorisation from WorldPay, then the link won't be in the receipt. Instead, it will be emailed in the customer receipt email.

There was a problem in this functionality with PayPal, which was fixed in 6.1.4. I would suggest upgrading to 6.1.4 to see if it helps WorldPay as well. Download the patch from http://www.actinicdownloads.com/v6/r_catv6.htm

well thats all well and good , but the link is not in the receipt of in the customer e-mail - thats my point.

i am getting callback eroor e-mails from worldpay after i get the receipt (without the download). Here it is , does it have any bearing??!!

Our systems have detected that your callback has failed.

This callback failure means we were unable to pass information
to your server about the following transaction:

Installation ID: 95838
Error reported: Request failed CAUSED BY Connection timed out

Also, if you usually return a response page for us to display to the Shopper
within the time allowed (1 minute), this will not have been displayed.

WorldPay will have displayed to the Shopper the response page file
(resultY.html or resultC.html) held for your installation on the WorldPay
server. This will be your own custom version, if you have supplied one, or,
if not, the WorldPay default version.

this is what i got back from the world pay support crowd about the call backs. Do yo uthink this is related to the problem?


Dear Andy,

The email is sent to indicate that your callback has failed. As your using
Actinic, the callback the callback URL are passed hidden to WorldPay and we
make a call back to this script. This is determined by the settings in your
actinic store. You may want to speak to Actinic support to identify if the
problem is with your settings or where your stores hosted.

And it's one I don't know the answer to - and it is also a question that we cannot resolve on this forum. To investigate this, someone actually has to upload a test Actinic store, using WorldPay, to your web site.

To organise this, you need to register an email support query HERE (http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm) and pass on what I have said here. Also include the link to this thread. At least we have isolated the cause. Now we just need to fit you out with a solution.

i now believe this to be a hosting company problem as i have up loaded it to another webspace and it all works fine there so i am moving host. Thank you for all your help.
