Hi,

I am new to all this and i am really struggling to get my site working.

I am currently expieriencing problems with my network setup, i keep getting the following error.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The connection with the server was reset

The test script failed to execute on the web server. The error could be caused by several things. Check the path to the Perl shell, the CGI script extension, the path to CGI-BIN, and the CGI-BIN URL. This error could also occur if your web site is out of disk space or your web server is not configured to accept POSTs to CGI scripts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

All i can say about this message is that i have 1gig of free web space.

my host is startlogic, and i can ftp in and add files etc, that works fine but the actinic settings are wrong.

Here are my settings:-

thank you

does your webspace allow you to have your own cgi-bin, and does it allow you to run cgi scripts.

most free webspace does not

Having looked at your settings, I would recommend removing the 'public_html' from both the 'CGI-BIN URL' field and the 'Catalog URL' field. They should just read:

http://www.onlinediscshop.co.uk/cgi-bin/

and

http://www.onlinediscshop.co.uk/acatalog/

Also remove the '../acatalog/' from the 'Path from cgi-bin to the acatalog directory as viewed by the web server' field (on the right). You can just leave this blank.
