Hi all,

I am a very green newbie.

I have searched through FAQs, knowledge base and these forums but can't find what I need to know (or maybe I have but didn't actually know it!)

I am trying to upload an Actinic store (v7 30 day evaluation) and can't work out the CGI-BIN path or CGI-BIN URL

I have entered several combinations by trial and error but don't know how to derive the actual path with the info I have.

Details from my Actinic network setup are:-

Server host ftp.babysleepshop.com

user name XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

password xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

CGI-BIN PATH please help

Catalogue URL http://www.babysleepshop.com/actalog/

website URL http://www.babysleepshop.com

CGI-BIN URL please help

I have CGI/PHP capability and the following info is from uk2.net who host the site:-

(I have inserted the x's as I am not sure of security implications but format is the same).

CGI/PHP
Your files are stored at /home/x/x/xxxxxxx on the web server, if your scripts need to know this. You do not need to remember this when uploading files - our ftp server automatically adds it on.
Check our FAQs on PHP and Perl for further details on how to install scripts.

I have emailed uk2.net asking for help, but in the meantime would appreciate any tips or guidance you may have.

Thanking you in advance

Nick

Hi Nick,

The Cgi bin URl will be : http://www.babysleepshop.com/cgi-bin/
The path to Cgi-bin : /Cgi-bin/

Check with your Hosts if they have POST's allowed. The Permissions required on the server will be '755' for the cgi-bin and '777' for the acatalog folder.

If you are unable to resolve this and are facing problems I would suggest you register a support query here (http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm) as we would need to take a look at the settings and get them to work.

Kind regards,

Bruce,

Thanks for your quick reply.

Seems obvious now!!

I have used the above and it seems to work. However, the wizard is now asking for the location of Perl on the server.

I think I will use your link and contact you directly.

Thanks once again.

Nick
