some products i wish to ship FREE and others not.

but when i get to a value of £750 shipping is free whatever.

the solution i am using is to use shipping by weight

FREE products Weight = 0
Normal products Weight = Price (99kg if price is £99)

Setup bands in business settings
0.00 0.00
749.00 15.00
750.00 0.00
10000.00 0.00

Excess: take the highest value in table

Averything works great UNTIL the products have components

Then if i have the main product plus 2 components (with associated products) & the weight of product plus components < 750kg then system still shows shipping as NILL. When it should be £15.00.

Having worked on this for a couple of hours, i concluded this is a bug.

Chris do you agree ?

Well, I don't agree this is a bug simply because I have tried to recreate it with exactly your settings and had no luck.

So you simply add a component (with an associated product) and then the shipping weight goes to nil? Do you have an online store I can look at?

The only suggestion I have is to use Actinic's 'Free Over' feature to charge free shipping for all orders over £750. And see if this change of setup sorts you out.

the sum of weight is NOT over the threshold set in business settings & should show £12.76

i created a html document with some screen captures of my setup in actinic

the free over £750 will not work for me, as i have to ship some products for free. this is why i an using the weight shipping method.

hope you get the same result as me

john

I do get the same results. You add any one component and you get charged shipping, but you add two and you don't get charged shipping.

Strange.

I suggest you register an email support query at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm and the email support team will be able to investigate further.
