We've been with HSBC E payments for about 6 years. It works fine for us, despite the long winded checkout. Whichever PSP you use with Actinic, currently your customers are going to have to leave your site.
As far as Verified by Visa etc are concerned, the same applies. If your customers don't want to sign up for their banks' own schemes, then sooner or later they'll find they can't shop anywhere on the web. Except Paypal.

When we put HSBC up last weekend we had no single sale on the website.
Then we went back to PayPal Pro and we started having 4 orders a day as usual.

It's true, sooner or later most people will need to have the 3D Secure code to complete a purchase. However, as a lot of our customers work on an impulse purchase, we are not prepare to become the guinea pigs of the credit card industry educating the world about 3D Secure in the expenses of our company.

If people do not even bother completing checkout because of the long process then it's probably more wise to stick to what we have now and when the majority of customers are aware of the system we then move back to HSBC.

I'm waiting though for Actinic to integrate HSBC Secure Payments with iFrame as someone else suggested above so that customers don't leave your site.

On the days that you used HSBC and had no sales, did you get orders into PSP pending where they went through the checkout but didn't complete at the PSP stage or were there simply no orders at all.

Its interesting what you say about order volumes and HSBC vs Paypal, and its effect on your sales.

I use HSBC and was looking at Paypal but as they do not acknowledge immediately upset's the Autoship on DD.

But then I was looking at Sage Pay who I am told don't have that problem and acknowledge on behalf of paypal, but then i realised I still have to use HSBC for merchant services and then end up with 2 bills for transactions - ??? but if I get an increase in sales, etc etc....

For the record , does anyone use Sage Pay with Digital Download, any pro's con's ?

S.
