You don't have to splash out on Enterprise or wait for V10 to get real time stock control. A new plug-in is now available for download.....

That's very interesting Richard, your help file doesn't work, so I can't check that but I would be interested to know how it interacts with checkout and when products are actually taken out of stock?

Not sure why the help file wouldn't work - you should just be able to download the CHM file from the blog page or the product page. Try this direct link: Help File.

Hopefully you can find your answers in there.
When a product goes out of stock, the customer will not be able to add it to the cart - they will just get an error message (which can be edited in Design | Text).

It does use modified perl scripts , but it retains any changes you have made by editing the ones in your Site1 folder rather than overwriting them. We've been running it for a few months now on a V9 site without any problems.

Sounds excellent on the surface Richard, particularly if you have been using it for a while. My first concerns would have been on how stock levels are affected when orders are cancelled or increased etc. basically the back order changes that are possible to stock levels.

Anything that puts paid to constantly uploading and downloading to keep things somewhere near sounds great to me. If you crack coupon codes too, you may just become the hero of many people as these 2 items have been long standing wishlist items.

Hi Richard,

That help file doesn't work either, I just get 404 errors in the window where the help text should appear. It looks like it might be referencing files local to your PC.

doesn't work for me either, i get a 332kb chm file but its empty - same as Jan

If you have say 5 items though, can two customers both put all 5 into the basket and the first one to checkout gets them or if one person buys them all, will the other persons buy button disappear, or they both manage to get them into the basket before the buy buttons is disabled will they both be able to checkout with them?

I guess I'm asking if it's just a stock level upload or if it manages stock cleverly online as well.

I get the same size of file. The help file opens and has the following pages of documentation:

All pages open and read OK. Hm, that's a strange one.

I got a help file with headings but no content. All I got was a "could not display page" type error in the content pane.

Really sorry, it appears the link is broken, I have tried to FTP the file but I'm not getting anywhere (best left to the experts!). Unfortunatley, Richard wont be able to get to the PC until this evening to rectify this.
